Your rights

You have the right at any time to information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of processing, as well as the right to correction, restriction or deletion of this data and to data portability. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Uberspace GmbH, Feringastraße 12a, 82031 Grünwald, Germany; the server location is Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

When the pages are accessed, the host automatically records data transmitted by your browser in server log files: the address requested, date and time, the volume of data transferred, a notice of successful retrieval, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL and your IP address in shortened form. This data serves the secure and trouble-free operation of the site and is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is the legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log data is deleted after a short period, at the latest after seven days, unless it is needed longer to deal with a specific fault.

Enquiry form

When you contact us through the enquiry form, we process the details you provide — name, email address, the move-in date you want, the expected length of stay, the number of people, what brings you to Kiel, and optionally your employer or institution and your message — solely in order to answer your enquiry and prepare the stay.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, as the processing serves pre-contractual measures. The information on what brings you to Kiel also serves to document the professional and temporary character of the stay.

The enquiry is sent to us as an email and processed in our mailbox. The website itself does not store the entries. We keep your enquiry for as long as is necessary to handle it and any follow-up, and delete it once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention periods apply.

Sending emails

To send the confirmation and notification emails we use the service of Proton AG, Route de la Galaise 32, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, Switzerland. An adequacy decision of the European Commission is in place for Switzerland, so the level of data protection under the GDPR is maintained. A data processing agreement is in place with Proton.

No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies that require consent and uses no analytics or tracking services, no embedded maps, fonts or videos from third parties and no captcha. No usage profiles are created. For this reason there is no cookie notice.

Encryption

For security this site uses TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the “https://“ and the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar.

Currency of this notice
