How long
Six months at the least. There is no upper limit — the longer stays are the ones we like best. The flat is meant for the time you spend working, researching or running a project in Kiel.
The rent stays unchanged for the first twelve months.
If it runs longer
If your project is extended, let us know at least eight weeks before the contract ends. An email is enough.
Who
One or two people. For a longer stay with family, talk to us first and we will work out together whether the flat suits.
Bülow29 is set up for individuals and couples posted to Kiel for work.
The price
€1,890 a month, everything included — about €63 a night. The furnished flat, heating, water, electricity and internet. There is no service-charge statement, no balancing payment and no electricity surcharge arriving later.
What comes on top, in full:
- Deposit: €2,500 before you move in, in three instalments if you prefer, or as a guarantee
- Cleaning and fresh linen: only if you book it — €95 per visit, €190 a month every two weeks, €340 a month weekly
- Broadcasting fee (Rundfunkbeitrag): you register for this yourself, as in any flat in Germany
That is the whole list. Nothing else follows.
Registering your address
You can register your residence at this address. You receive the Wohnungsgeberbestätigung — the landlord's confirmation the registration office asks for — when we hand over the keys, and your name goes on the door and on the letterbox.
Deposit
€2,500, due before you move in. It is held separately from our own funds, it earns interest, and it is returned after the final inspection. You may pay it in three monthly instalments.
We also accept a guarantee instead of a payment — from your bank or from your employer. Tell us if you would prefer that.
Cleaning and fresh linen
You wash your own things in the washer-dryer in the flat. The bed linen and towels are off your hands.
Every visit
- The bed is made up with fresh linen
- Towels, bath mat and kitchen towels are changed
- The bathroom in full: shower, basin, mirror, toilet, surfaces
- The kitchen sink, surfaces and cupboard fronts
- Every surface in the living room and bedroom dusted
- The whole flat vacuumed thoroughly, then every floor gone over with a steam cleaner
And whatever is due: the fridge, the oven, the windows, the skirting boards, the shower curtain, descaling the coffee machines.

You can add it before you move in or at any point during your stay. We agree the dates with you.
Your invoice
You receive a proper invoice, made out to your employer if that helps. Rent and cleaning appear as separate lines.
Arriving
We hand over the keys in person. Tell us roughly when you expect to arrive and we will fit around it.
If something stops working
We answer enquiries within one working day.
During your stay you can reach us on +49 177 3161464, evenings and weekends included. For heating, water or electricity there is also the building's caretaker and the managing agent, each with their own number. You get both when we hand over the keys.
So you are never dependent on one particular person picking up the phone.
Smoking
The flat is non-smoking. There is an ashtray on the balcony.
The contract
You sign a fixed-term tenancy agreement for furnished accommodation, limited to the period agreed. We send it to you before you travel, so you can read it without hurry. In English if you prefer.
